Dear Sweet Karen- sending so much love to you and your family. My heart is with you today, as you celebrate
Dick's life- and what a great one he had! It was a privilege to be your neighbor for 8 years! I miss you and
wish I could give you a big hug- You are so blessed to have a huge loving family- they will give you the
strength you need. Know I am only a phone call away-
Dick was one of the strongest men I know- he gave sickness one heck of a fight!
Love you my friend

Dear Sebok Family,
My sincerest condolences to all of you, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Dick was such a welcoming, truly genuine person, a quality that will not be forgotten. For the brief time that we worked together, I recall that he never failed to greet the start of each work day with a smile. We had some wonderful conversations during that time, Dick always displaying a veritable interest and love for his family and friends. I truly appreciate the generosity and inclusiveness that your entire family has shared with me in the past. You are all in my thoughts and I wish you much peace and comfort as you celebrate Dick's life.
Many kind regards,
Alex von Dallwitz

Phyllis and I extend our sympathy to you, Karen and to all your family. Friends laugh together and grieve together and count on us to lift you and your loved ones up in prayer. Memories are precious and emotions run high as we reflect of those wonderful years watching our similarly-aged children grow up in Turlock. Remember when Brady and Steve pitched back to back no-hitters? Dick commemorated the event by constructing two plaques of newspaper clippings and of course giving one to us. Dick always found ways to role-model thoughtfulness and generosity. He will be missed by all! Prayerfully, Roger & Phyllis Soderstrom

Dear Karen,
Hugo and I are so sorry for your loss. Dick was a true professional in everything he did in life. We enjoyed working with him at Big Sur International Marathon. He enhanced the standing of the marathon in the eyes of the running community.

Dear Karen, We learned of Dick's death in yesterday's newspaper. I so fondly remember seeing you both when you lived in Turlock. What a wonderful man who left a lasting imprint on this earth and in your hearts. Twenty years ago, we buried Mike, and I remember the kind words that you wrote to me. Your children, grandchildren and friends will help you now at this sad time. Please give my love to Brook, Brady and Kirsten and their families. Take good care of you. Love & prayers, Sue Nixon

Gordon Schrishuhn posted a condolence
I am very sorry to learn of Dicks passing. the obituary that appeared in the Decatur paper sounded as though he truly did have a good life worthy of celebration. I lived 2 doors East of his family on Leafland street in Decatur until 1950. We were best buds through all 6 years of elementary school. We played in the street on a daily basis, ran through all of the yards in the neighborhood and rode all over town on our bicycles to parks and movies without supervision. It was a different time and place back then. it seems that children can't do those things today. My family moved from the old neighborhood in 1950 and I only saw Dick a few times after that, but always remembered him because we had such great times together. Please remember that this life is not the end, we can see each other again.

Karen and Family,
Full of energy, always positive, caring. A life well lived. I enjoyed knowing Dick while attending CSUS, and working with him and our alumni association. But most of all I enjoyed him as a friend, mentor, and an active member of our Turlock community for those many, many years.
Cindy and I send our prayers to all for His peace to be upon you at a time of celebration at the wonder of this inspirational life.

Aunt Karen, Brook, Brady, Kirsten,
We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband, father, my uncle. He was always someone I respected and looked up to, and regarded as a great example of the journey that is academia. While distance limited the time we could spend with you, you all were often in our thoughts. I'm so sorry we are unable to come to the "Celebration of his Life". We will celebrate here in Decatur.
During Doug's tenure at Millikin, Uncle Dick's name was often recognized with respect and fondness by
members of the Millikin family, faculty and staff.
I will keep you in my prayers, and please remember, when all that's left are memories, it is those memories to which we turn to find comfort and presence of the ones we loved and miss so much.
With love and Prayers,
Jody

I worked for Dick for many years at Cal State Stanislaus, first when he was Dean of Students and later when we moved to Development and Public Affairs. Dick was the best boss I ever had. He was fair, just, and reasonable with staff in every situation, kept all of us clear on what we were trying to accomplish, and welcomed and supported improvements in programs and delivery of services. He had a strong sense of ethics that he stuck to in difficult situations. Dick was a great leader and a great friend.

My sincere thoughts and prayers are with you Aunt Karen, cousins, Brook, Brady and Kirstin. Uncle Dick was a man of many accomplishments, none of which match his achievements of being a great husband, father and grandfather. Although logistics and life in general restricted the frequency in which I got to spend time with him, when I did, I was proud to say "that's my uncle". My hope is that during this difficult time you find peace in your memories and reflections. Hold onto them and treasure them. They're yours forever.
Prayers,
Billy

We all got our first job at Stanislaus State thanks to Dick. He was always encouraging us and a super nice guy. Life is a truly wonderful and amazing thing, and he lived a good one. Your family is in our prayers, he was always good to all of us Turlock boys. I think we are now good dads because we had awesome dads who loved their kids and enjoyed their family to the fullest. Peace and good vibes to our long time family friends the Sebok Family in this hard time.
