Shahin Anable

Obituary of Shahin Anable

Born March 15, 1945 in Kermansha, Iran to Abbas Hormozi and Moneer Gholistani Hormozi. At age 18, she left home to travel to the US to study science at Arizona State University. Shahin could barely speak English when she arrived but was very determined with two large dictionaries under each arm. She was nominated for Homecoming queen but withdrew because the pre-selection activities conflicted with her science lab. Education always came first. Upon graduation she was employed as a clinical lab scientist and later joined Abbott Laboratories as a sales service representative. During her work travels, she was introduced on a blind date, to the love of her life by her friends. After a 9 year long courting process, she married Leonard Anable in Hawaii on January 1, 1983. Supposedly to save on long distance telephone bills! Moving to the Monterey Peninsula, Shahin worked for the Silas B Hayes Hospital until the day before their first child was born. She then went on to work at Natividad Hospital as a clinical lab scientist and served on the Board of Directors of the Hospital’s Foundation. Shahin also took on a wide array of extra curricular roles including: Cub Scout Den Mother, Park Treasurer, Chair of Local Spiritual Assembly, President of American University Women, President of Garden Club, Parent-Teacher Aid, Co-chair of CSUMB “Have a Heart” Dinner Auction, CSUMB Women’s Leadership Council. Survived by her Husband Leonard Anable Sons AJ Anable (Los Angeles), Nicolas Anable (New York) Brother Hormoz Hormozi (Chicago), Sister Pari Mahboobipoor (Chicago), Sister Nasrin Anvari (Iran) In addition to numerous friends and relatives in the four corners of the globe. Many thanks to her loyal caregiver Lauree Campbell. Service Information
